Mirror, Mirror On The Wall

My grandma gave me this old mirror of her's not too long ago. I really wanted a pretty mirror to go in our bedroom and I thought it would be perfect! :) I wanted to paint it, but I still wanted it to look old so I thought about distressing it, which would probably have ended up being a disaster. Luckily, I found this mirror makeover "how to" on My Romantic Home (could not love this blog more!) It was really super duper easy, and I am so thrilled with the results!
I spray-painted it an off white color.
Cindy gives you a complete description on how to achieve this distressed look in her tutorial, and all you do is use Rub-n-Buff (I got mine at Michael's) on the high edges. She used a copper color, which actually shows up a lot better. I used a silver color. It's a little more subtle.
Big improvement, eh? I'm in love with it!

I also hung up my $15 Ikea curtains (finally) and they look so pretty! They really soften the sunlight in our bedroom so it was hard to get a good picture, but you'll get the idea:)
And, we found this vintage clothes hamper at a thrift store for $10! I think it's super cute and fitting with our room without looking like a big eye sore like most clothes hampers. We literally have nowhere else to put one so I'm excited we found a cool one! It's actually really big too so double bonus!
It is now Oliver's favorite place to hang:)
I can't wait until our bedroom is finished so I can show you it all completed:) I hope everyone is having a great week!

Oh, off the subject... Have any of you heard this song? The beautiful, little song leader (I say little because she is extremely tiny and I would guess only about 18) at our new church sang it and I have had it stuck in my head ever since. She has the most beautiful voice and plays the guitar so wonderfully. Every time she sings I get goosebumps. Anyways, I just wanted to share you Hillsong's version. It's such a beautiful song.
