A Spoonful of Honey

Hello everyone! I hope you all had a terrific weekend:) Matt and I had a very relaxing and productive weekend! I'll be sure and show you what all we got done, but first I wanted to tell you a little something cool I learned. Matt read an article that claimed that eating local honey produced in your area (the closer the better) can have a positive affect on your allergy symptoms. The honey should be raw and unpasteurized and about a tablespoon a day should be consumed. The idea behind this is immunotherapy, where acquiring small amounts of the pollen from the species of plants that give you the nasty allergies in the first place, actually helps build your immunity towards them over time. It's like a honey vaccine:)
I use honey in my tea almost daily anyways so I was super excited about this! I'll try anything that may help my awful allergies! I bought my local honey from the Nugget Market here in Davis. You could probably find some at your Trader Joe's, Whole Foods or Famer's Market too.
Happy Monday:)
